It’s time to celebrate!
Over the last 50 years, devotees have served Sri Sri Kisora-Kisori with love and devotion! And, what better way to serve the Lord than to glorify His devotees!
We want to welcome all the well wishers and devotees of Srila Prabhupada for the golden anniversary of Sri Sri Kisora-Kisori!
The History- Srila Prabhupada
Srila Prabhupada came to the west at the age of 69, on a cargo ship under the order of his spiritual master, Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura to preach the vedic knowledge to the English speaking parts of the world and over the next 12 years, he established 108 temples and circled the globe 14 times spreading the message of Krishna. He translated over 70 volumes of Vaisnava literature into English and his works have been translated to 76 languages. He visited Chicago in 1974 and 1975.
“I have named your deities Kisora Kisori. So go on with your worship and increase it more and more till all Chicago has become aware of Kisora Kisori in your temple.”
(Letter to Sri Govinda, July 28, 1973)
Over the last five decades, many visitors and devotees over all walks of life have experienced the mercy and beauty of Sri Sri Kisora-Kisori and They are being worshipped today due to the countless sacrifices of the followers of Srila Prabhuapada through distribution of literature, cooking, cleaning and serving the devotees. Please share this beautiful celebration with us to glorify Sri Sri Kisora-Kisori.
“Never think of the Deity as made of stone or wood. Every worshipper must remember that Krsna is personally present. He is simply kindly presenting Himself before us in a way so that we can handle Him. That is His mercy, otherwise He is unapproachable.”
(Letter to Jayatirtha, November 10, 1975)
